Jennifer Chastain Interview & Book Giveaway

Why writers write what they write

I’ve recently added a new author interview series section to my blog. Why Writer’s Write What They Write is where I’ll invite you into the writer’s life with a different sort of inspirational and mysterious story than the kind you usually read here. You’ll meet Bestselling, Award-winning authors, seasoned or debut authors, wannabe writers, and publishing industry professionals who will share the ups and downs of publication journeys.

Meet Jennifer Chastain

Today, we’re sharing our first—uncut/unedited LIVE interview with Author Jennifer Chastain. Her debut romantic suspense book, Lethal Intentions, launched on February 23, 2023, and I was thrilled to be on her launch team.

Jennifer has also penned a Christmas novella which you’ll hear us mention in the video below. Our focus, however, is on Lethal Intentions (book 1) in her Targeted For Elimination series.

To watch the interview video, double-click the black box below.

(And please excuse the few gorky technical glitches along the way).

Yay! We now have books for our giveaway. To enter, follow the brief instructions below, and tell your friends.

Jen’s author bio:

Jennifer Chastain grew up in a small dairy farming community in New York State at the foot of the Catskill Mountains. Her family moved to Charlotte, NC while she was in high school. She received her B.A. in Communication Arts from Tennessee Temple University with a concentration in theater.

She is a member of ACFW, ACFW-NC Chapter, Blue Ridge Reader Connections, and Novel Academy/My Book Therapy. Jennifer is currently employed by UNC Charlotte, but writing is her passion, and she recently attended Lynette Eason’s 2023 Weekend with the Writers. In 2020, she received her first publishing contract for her Christmas short novel, The Mistletoe Contract.

Jennifer released a new romantic suspense series beginning on February 6, 2023, Lethal Intentions, Targeted for Elimination Book 1, with two additional books in this series to be released. This writing journey has been a walk of faith as God continues to open new avenues for her. She is excited to see how God will use her stories.

Thanks for stopping by the Dreamdove blog

One main goal for this author interview series is to gain a better understanding of Why Writers Write What They Write— I also wish this for myself, too… because God knows my journey is one that hasn’t always been as smooth or as easy as I’d hoped.

I’ve learned writing isn’t for sissies.

What inspires or motivates us, keeps us focused on our goals, and moves us forward on our writing journeys?

Thanks for joining us here. Wishing you (and yours) amazing adventures every day. And thank you, Jen. I’m so glad we connected and had this time together. I wish you all the best.

The Write Flight Writers Group

With help and encouragement from several author friends back in 2018, I launched Dreamdoves’s Write Flight Writers group with big plans to grow platforms, form friendships and alliances, and the sincere hope to implement proficient social networking on a regular schedule. Whoouf…

I’d love to say we’re fabulous and growing by leaps and bounds, but the truth is, sometimes, our plans and God’s plans are two different things. When life gives us detours, leading and participating in a writer’s group can resemble shepherding or herding cattle—It’s tough. And that means the emphasis must be on following where the true Shepherd leads, relating well with others, and growing relationships with those entrusted to our care.

I often try to imagine God’s love for you and me. He’s so patient while shepherding us. I’ll share more on these topics in future posts…
